AMP isn’t the only one in the game and we like to give our customers all of the options. After going over all of those options, this Bronco owner decided on the AMP Research PowerSteps. AMP has a plug-n-play feature that utilizes the vehicle’s OBD2 port to activate the retractable steps. For the 2023 Ford Bronco, this was the only option available. There is additional wiring that ties into the BCM as well. Another option you have with the plug-n-play kits is a Passthrough Harness that allows you to keep your OBD2 port free for use of whatever else you may want to plug into it.
All of AMP’s kits come with 4 LED lights that activate while the steps are deployed. These lights help you safely enter and exit the vehicle by illuminating the stepping surface. Once the steps retract the lights shut off.
